02/2016. Novel mannan-allergoid glycoconjugates

It has been published in the Glycoconjugate Journal the original article:

“Structural studies of novel glycoconjugates from polymerized allergens (allergoids) and mannans as allergy vaccines”

The article describes a glutaraldehyde based crosslinking of allergens from Phleum pratense pollen with Saccharomyces cerevisae mannan. The resulting allergen-mannan conjugation was investigated with respect to several structural features as well as to its IgE reactivity. These hypoallergenic neoglycoconjugates are intended to be used in new vaccines being developed by INMUNOTEK.

The study was performed by researchers from the CIB-CSIC (Biological Research Center, Superior Council for Scientific Research) and the Faculty of Chemistry-UCM (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), in addition to the R&D Department of INMUNOTEK. The project has received funding from the CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology), Ministry of Energy and Competitiveness, Spain.
