06/2023. Allergen exposome in Tenerife

IJMS (International Journal of Molecular Sciences) publishes a study on the allergen exposome in allergic patients in Tenerife (Canary Islands).

The exposome, the set of environmental exposures to which the individual is subjected, is of critical relevance when considering allergic diseases caused by environmental allergens.

In this study, carried out on 150 allergic subjects living in Tenerife, the molecular patterns of IgE sensitization to the main environmental allergens of this geographical area were analyzed. The results indicate different sensitization patterns to some important allergens, which are associated with the atopic phenotype of the subjects studied.

The study has been carried out at the Allergy Department of the Hospital Universitario de Canarias with the collaboration of INMUNOTEK.
