Nasal irrigation is indicated for all types of rhinitis and sinusitis due to its efficient nasal obstruction relief*. As it is not a pharmacological treatment, it is particularly applicable during pregnancy or for athletes as well as in chronic processes (chronic rhinitis or sinusitis, nasal polyps, atrophic rhinitis) and for treating chronic coughing due to retronasal drip.
Nasal irrigation is also very useful for post-surgery care after nasal endoscopic surgery as it prevents the formation of adherences and removes clots and crusts.
Nasal irrigation can be performed regularly as a hygienic measure in polluted environments (urban pollution or workplace pollution) or contamination caused by irritating agents. It has a preventive action against nasal mucosa inflammation associated to contaminated environments, improving breathing and mucociliary clearing.
